Born and bred in the Windy City, I'm a 20-year-old fun-loving Chi-Town shawty. I'm absolutely horrible at these profile things so don't be too hard on me. Seeing as I'm much better at actual conversation (I hope): I guess I'll use the old tried and true method and just tell you a few of the more relevant things about me:
I’ve loved to sing and dance since I was little. A lot, much to the chagrin of my family (which is part of the fun) and a few people even say I’m pretty good. Generally, I just like to have a good time. Life's hard enough as it is without giving in to all the minor drama that comes ones way.
I adore CSI: Miami. Horatio is the source of many laughs for me, though I still firmly stand by my belief that he serves no purpose other than comic relief and to state the obvious. For Miami I ship Eric and Calleigh pretty much exclusively, though I’ll indulge in Ryan and Valera’s insanity and can even see the allure of Ryan/Natalia. I used to be a huge fan of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, but then the writing and storylines went out the window and so did my interest. I'm still a YoBlinger though, which goes to show the extent of my optimism. CSI: New York seems like a great show, but I don't get a chance to see it much, my life conflicts with the schedule. There are always DVDs though.
Though the CSI franchise is my obsession, I’m always looking to spread the love, and right now I currently settle on the couch to catch episodes of The Closer (love it. Kiera is superb), Psych (Shawn is my TV baby-daddy), Monk, and Shark (I even ship Sebastian and Jessica. I adore those love/hate relationships). Oh, and Mythbusters. Can’t help it, I’m a geek and they blow stuff up.
I don’t spend all my time watching TV though, I also spend a large chunk of it reading. And because I love way too many books to list I’ll just mention a few authors/series that are constantly on my To-Read list:
James Patterson: I've read every Alex Cross and the Women's Murder Club novel.
Ed McBain: Anything 87th Precinct. "Alice in Jeopardy" was pretty good too. I love the way he wrote and will miss him and his stories immensely. The man had wonderful style and wrote an excellent combination of dry humor and suspense.
Lisa Scottoline: Awesome writer of legal thrillers. Always delivers a witty, intriguing tale of suspense.
Janet Evanovich: I’m a Stephanie Plum fan (and an unrepentant Ranger girl. He’s my book baby daddy), though I like the Barnaby series too.
James Lee Burk: I’m pretty new to him, but this man has a way with words that I’ve never seen. I swear everytime I put down a book, it’s like I’ve come back from a trip, his narrative, imagery, and dialogue are that good.
My obsession with the written word doesn’t stop at reading. I love to write and have been know to dabble in the realm of fan fiction. Whether this is good or bad will be for you to decide since I’ll post here whatever I manage to get done.
Okay, I've bored you enough. I'll shut up now.
